Dear Members, Followers, and Valued Stakeholders of the Houston Housing Collaborative

It is with a heavy heart yet deep appreciation that we share news of Alan Watkins' departure from his role as Executive Director. Over the past three years, Alan has been instrumental in guiding our organization through significant transformations, solidifying our position as a catalyst for affordable housing in Houston. His leadership has been pivotal during a time when our collaborative efforts were most needed.

As we navigate through this period of transition, we remain steadfast in our commitment to our mission: to advocate for and ensure the provision of safe, high-quality, and affordable housing across Houston. We assure you, the departure of Alan marks a new chapter in our journey, one that we approach with optimism and a dedicated focus on the future.

In our quest to find a new Executive Director, we will embark on a comprehensive search over the next few months to identify a leader who embodies our values and vision. This phase is crucial, and we prioritize both the continuity of our mission and the operational stability of the Collaborative. We will soon share details of the job announcement and welcome your active participation in suggesting candidates who can propel us forward on our successful path.

Please note, all scheduled meetings and events, including the General Meeting on April 19th and the 2nd Annual Bankers’ Fair on May 17th, will proceed as planned. We also remain committed to advancing our Framework document, aiming to influence housing strategies in Houston and surrounding areas significantly.
